“The whole world loves you, if you are a cheap comedian”
-Part Conor Oberst, part me.
Cassadaga, Bright Eyes.
I basically made up this quote. I can be a poet too, especially since everybody is a fucking poet nowadays (something this guy touches on real nice). Well, I was listening to this song… and when I heard this part I thought it was genius and started analyzing how true it was, but then I looked up the lyrics and it actually said something completely different (chic chameleon, not cheap comedian). I still decided to write it down.
I like this quote because it made me remember about something I was thinking about this past week: some people take advantage of other more innocent and nice people to look good. Some people say it’s smart, I say it’s asshole-ish. That’s what “cheap comedy” means to me. Like, there’s funny people, that can make you laugh just by opening their mouth, and then there’s people that notice everything, and they use that to make fun of others, to find their “soft spot”. Maybe that’s how they’ll get friends, but it’s really a bitch move. You know, it’s “better to be an unsatisfied person than it is to be a satisfied pig” or something like that. And I’m not even talking about “bullies”, that’s a whole other psychological disorder. I’m talking about persons that “use” other persons, it’s one of the things that I hate the most. You know how there’s some persons that change when they are around a group of people? Well, everybody is like that, it’s just that it’s easier to notice on some people than it is on others.
Anyway, just a quick thought I had.
